What the full scholarship covers and how to apply from Cameroon, based on the latest official calls.
The full scholarship
What it covers
- Studies
- Tuition fees, and for the bilateral program the preparatory Chinese year (usually one year) then the normal length of the program.
- Housing and health
- A free room at the university or a housing allowance, and full health insurance.
- Monthly allowance
- CNY 2,500 for a bachelor's, CNY 3,000 for a master's, CNY 3,500 for a doctorate.
In Cameroon
How to apply
According to the latest call from the Cameroonian Ministry of Higher Education (MINESUP), for 2025/2026:
- Procedure
- Fill in the form on the Campus China platform (Type A category), then submit the paper file in 2 copies to MINESUP in Yaoundé.
- Requirements
- Cameroonian nationality, a recent qualification (at most 2 years old) with at least an “Assez Bien” grade (15/20 for medicine), a pre-admission letter from the chosen university.
- Age
- At most 22 for a bachelor's, at most 32 for a master's or doctorate.
- Timeline
- The 2025/2026 call was published at the end of November 2024, with a deadline of 13 December 2024: watch MINESUP announcements from the autumn.
- New test for bachelor's
- Since the 2026/2027 cycle, bachelor's applicants for the scholarship must take the CSCA test (China Scholastic Competency Assessment).
The 2026/2027 call for Cameroon had not yet been published when we checked. Requirements may change from one year to the next.
From Cameroon
How the application works in Yaoundé
- Online application
- The form is filled in on the official visaforchina.cn website. The file is then submitted when the status shows “Passport to be submitted”.
- Submission
- At the Chinese Visa Application Centre in Yaoundé (C102, ICON Residences & Offices, Bastos), Monday to Friday, 9 am to 3 pm. The Douala consulate has been closed since 2017: everything goes through Yaoundé.
- Passport and photo
- Passport valid for at least 6 months with 2 blank pages, and a recent colour passport photo on a white background.
- Visa fees
- Visa fee depending on the number of entries and the duration, plus the visa centre's service fee, not refunded. Current amounts given in your quote.
- Processing time
- 4 working days in general for a complete file; the embassy may extend it.
