M visa: business

For business activities, for example a trade fair. You need business documents or an invitation from the partner in China; for a first visit, an official invitation letter (PU or TE type) or an invitation verification form.

L visa: tourism

Return flight and hotel bookings (or another itinerary), an invitation letter from a tourism body in China, the last 3 months of bank statements. For a first trip: employment certificate and criminal record extract.

Q2 and S2 visas: family

Q2 to visit a Chinese relative or permanent resident in China (180 days at most); S2 for the family of a foreigner working or studying in China. Invitation letter, the host's ID and proof of relationship.

Visa duration

The embassy decides case by case on validity, length of stay and number of entries.

Online application

The form is filled in on the official visaforchina.cn website. The file is then submitted when the status shows “Passport to be submitted”.

Submission

At the Chinese Visa Application Centre in Yaoundé (C102, ICON Residences & Offices, Bastos), Monday to Friday, 9 am to 3 pm. The Douala consulate has been closed since 2017: everything goes through Yaoundé.

Passport and photo

Passport valid for at least 6 months with 2 blank pages, and a recent colour passport photo on a white background.

Visa fees

Visa fee depending on the number of entries and the duration, plus the visa centre's service fee, not refunded. Current amounts given in your quote.

Processing time

4 working days in general for a complete file; the embassy may extend it.
