The Canadian study permit

What you need to study in Canada: admission, provincial attestation, proof of funds and documents.

Step by step

The main steps

  1. 1

    Get admitted

Obtain a letter of acceptance from a designated learning institution (DLI).

  2. 2

    Get the attestation

Request the provincial or territorial attestation letter (PAL/TAL), usually after accepting the offer and paying part of the tuition.

  3. 3

    Gather the proofs

Prove your funds, prepare passport, photos and a letter of explanation.

  4. 4

    Apply online

Submit the application on the IRCC website and pay the fees.

  5. 5

    Biometrics

Give your fingerprints and photo at the Yaoundé centre, by appointment.
